About the Hampden Press

The Hampden Press is an independent publisher founded in 2001 to specialise in radical and challenging works, both non-fiction and fiction, in paperback and hardcover, neglected by establishment and mainstream houses in Britain and America. Our main orientation is towards both economic and political liberalism, or in modern terms libertarianism. However, we conceive this tradition in a very wide sense, and will also publish works from other traditions which we feel have something to contribute to rational, humane and progressive concerns.

As well as accepting orders and payments through the post, we are able to offer PayPal as a payment option, in addition to MasterCard, Visa, and major debit cards.

The Hampden Press is named after John Hampden (1594-1643), the great 17th century English parliamentarian, patriot, freedom-fighter and civil war commander. We are a partnership of Dr Sean Gabb and Mario Huet.
